Welcome to Belmont
Is a Mid-Peninsula city in California with a population near 27,000. Like many peninsula cities, Belmont has a quiet, small-town ambiance that is perfect for families. This beautiful city has 14 parks, including an off-leash dog park, and 337 acres of open space for running, hiking, and biking.
Belmont real estate is nestled amongst pines and oaks in the various hills and canyons, offering views of local woodlands or the San Francisco Bay. This area also offers residential real estate areas with flat lots and single-storied homes, with plenty of room for play, yards, and gardens.
Belmont’s excellent public school system includes Carlmont High School and Ralston Middle School, both California Distinguished Schools. Belmont is also home to Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU), a not-for-profit Catholic institution offering 37 undergraduate, graduate, and teacher credential programs. NDNU’s 50-acre property also features an all-girls Catholic high school and Ralston Hall, a historic landmark that is a popular rental venue for weddings and parties.
The Van’s Restaurant on Belmont Ave is one of the few remaining buildings from the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, a designation it shares with the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Originally a Japanese Tea House, the building was purchased by local landowner E. D. Swift and brought to Belmont on a barge when the exposition closed in 1915.
Strategically situated between Silicon Valley and San Francisco, Belmont is located just across the way from Oracle, the city’s largest employer. Belmont also boasts several famous tech companies of its own, including Nikon Precision, Cengage Learning, and the Volkswagen Research Laboratory.
